Over the last few years there’s been a lot of talk about the many benefits of fasting, ranging from weight loss, to anti-aging and life extension. Fasting by definition means refraining from eating all together for an extended period of time in order to start using stored fat for energy.
I don’t know about you, but going on a water fast for days has never been a viable option for me, as much as I wanted to reap the health benefits of fasting!

What I liked about this program:
♥ It had a major impact on my weight.
We all know too well that after a certain age it becomes more and more difficult to lose weight, especially the stubborn belly fat. After one cycle of the \ with food I lost 5 pounds, which was the most I ever lost in such a short period of time.
However, be prepared to put back a pound or so in the following week, as your body gets adjusted to eating normally. I personally added back one pound in the first week, but then I managed to remain constant by following my normal Mediterranean diet.
♥ It had a great impact on my overall wellbeing!
Not only I lost 5 pounds in 5 days, but the clarity and lightness I felt during and after the fast made me not want to go back to my typical diet (which I must say it’s pretty healthy).
By the end of day 3 (which by the way was the most challenging for me) I started to feel insanely light and clear in my head, like a veil has lifted and I was just discovering how beautiful my life was!
I am really not exaggerating. I had my husband do this fast with me twice, and he too noticed the same. Actually, the second month we did the program, we were so looking forward to that feeling of clarity, focus and ease – it was like a drug (but the good kind of drug).
♥ My skin looked so glowing and smooth, like I had a sudden infusion of collagen.
I felt like I reversed my age by a few years. In fact, research shows that fasting has anti aging benefits as it slows down aging and regenerates cells through a process called “autophagy”.
♥ I didn’t feel hungry and it was way easier to do than any other type of fast.
I did have short lived periods of hunger, which I managed to get over quite easily by just munching on a few slices or cucumber or sprouts (which are ok to have outside of the actual meals provided in the program). Also, drinking plenty of water is key here too.
♥ It made me not crave sugar and resist binge eating after completing the fast.
It kind of trains your body into becoming more aware while eating and eat more responsibly. You should have seen me how I was appreciating each meal and running after every dropped crumble, as I didn’t want to let anything go to waste (after all, that was my whole meal ).
♥ Overall, I felt like I was doing something so good for my body and health.
