I don’t prescribe a set in stone, rigid diet; instead I promote healthy eating and balanced living!
There are hundreds of dietary theories out there and fad diets, and while each of them might be beneficial in one way or another and for some people, they run the risk of being just that – A Diet. We’ve all been there before. Followed a strict diet that promised to make us look and feel good, only to find ourselves binge eating and frustrated weeks later, going back to where we were when we started the diet or even worse.
My approach is not focused on following a strict diet, but more so on bio-individuality. One person’s food could be other person’s poison! Which is why in my practice I focus on helping clients identify what works for them, what motivates them, what gives them the energy and zest for life and can be easily integrated in their lifestyle, such that the changes made last for a lifetime.
I am a big believer in the healing power of whole foods. You give your body what it needs to “heal itself by itself” (like my beloved teacher Joshua Rosenthal used to say) at any given time. If we tune in and learn to listen to our body we intuitively know to give it what is best for us at the right time. It takes time, practice and support. And that’s where my help comes in handy. I will guide you, provide useful advice and hold you accountable on your journey to making gradual and sustainable lifestyle changes in line with your ultimate goal of being and feeling like the best version of yourself!
As I said, I don’t believe in a “one diet fits all” kind of thing, which is why I consider we should all be flexible in our approach to food to some degree. Otherwise, we could quickly fall off track and switch from extremely “healthy” eating to binge eating and uncontrollable cravings. I am therefore, a big supporter of the 90/10 rule, meaning eat right most of the time and allow yourself the liberty of being somewhat “bad” at times. As a result of my approach, not only will you not feel you are on a diet, but your cravings (which is what usually sabotages our healthy eating efforts) will gradually disappear.
More importantly, I put a lot of emphasis on digestive health, as I am a living proof of the devastating effects an unbalanced gut could have on your overall health. You probably heard before that “happiness comes from within” and believe me, that is literally your Gut! The Gut is responsible for your overall wellbeing! Your gut sits at the core of your mental and physical health and has a huge impact on your health and vitality.
It’s vitally important not only what you feed your physical body, but also how you nurture your whole self. And that brings my focus on another important aspect of overall healing and wellbeing – Self Care. This is an important part of my health coaching program. You will be mesmerized by the impact the combination of proper nutrition and self-care has on your overall wellbeing and outlook on life. Together we will demystify what is missing from your life and how you can bring back balance – a necessary practice for overall wellbeing.
As you can see I am not an extreme, exotic health addict, prescribing an extreme way of eating. Instead, I am a holistic minded individual, with an integrative approach, who understands that although we are made from what we eat, our whole self and wellbeing is the result of a multitude of factors, such as experiences, career, relationships, spirituality, community, physical exercise and of course nutrition. All these shape who we are and how we feel, which is why in my practice I help clients reflect on every aspect of their lives that could potentially affect how they eat and ultimately feel.
